Q. Why should I invest in a residential elevator?

A. A residential Elevator adds value to your home, allowing you to enjoy a relaxed lifestyle, age in place and provide access to all levels of your home. A home Elevator is an investment for your future and your homes resale value.


Q. How much will it cost?

A. Costs will depend on the project requirements, examples of which are ; The number of floors (stops) that will be serviced by the elevator . The maximum amount of vertical rise(travel) between the lowest and highest floor to be serviced, interior cab panel selection , entrance arrangements and any other additional options.

Q. Does my elevator come with any warranty?

A. Your investment is secure with our manufacturers two (2) year limited warranty against defects or workmanship.


Q. What is the standard Size cab?

A. We do not have a standard size elevator cab. We can build our elevators to fit into virtually any reasonable space available in your home,however our most popular size is 36 “x 48” clear inside dimensions.


Q. What types of interiors are available?

A. With numerous interior finishes and fixtures to choose from , you will find many distinct features that will complement your decor.

From Plastic laminate cab walls to exotic natural hardwoods,mirror inserts and satin to polished fixtures, the team at Canada Custom Elevator will work with you to personalize your elevator.


Q. What happens to the passenger in the elevator during power failure?

A. The elevator is equipped with a battery back-up that illuminates the interior and also allows the elevator to descend to a preselected level which allows the occupant to safely exit the elevator


Q. What prevents someone from falling down the shaft when the elevator is at another level?

A. Each landing door is equipped with a door interlock, this interlock prevents the operation of the elevator with the door open and prevents any other door from opening when the car is not at a designated floor.


Q. How can I tell if the elevator is parked at the level where am at?

A. The hall call station are equipped with a “Car Here” indicator light that will be lit when the elevator is parked at that level.


Q. What is the speed of the Elevator?

A. 40 feet per minute is the nominal rated speed.


Q. How many levels can the elevator travel?

A. Our residential elevators can access up to 6 levels with a maximum travel distance of 50 feet(600”)


Q. What will the elevator look like in my house?

A. The home elevator is hidden behind your residential swing doors . The only item visible is the hall call station which is usually located on the wall nearest to the door handle at each level.
